Selected writing works
In this portfolio you’ll find a few examples that I’m particularly proud to share.
To start with, my professional work as Content Marketing Specialist with Square One Insurance Services. I’ve been there a while, and I’ve written bits and pieces all over the website.
Here are a few highlights of insurance-related content I’ve written:
- The Insurance Glossary. Yes, I wrote pretty much all of it (at least what’s there at the time of this writing). Dozens and dozens of comprehensive, but easy-to-read definitions of common insurance terms. One of my proudest accomplishments.
- Understanding your home insurance premiums. A detailed breakdown of how insurance premiums are calculated, and the factors that influence them.
- Drinking and driving laws in Canada. A full rundown of the laws and penalties related to impaired driving in Canada’s largest provinces.
And here are a few best-of selections from other topics:
- Dealing with noise complaints and disturbances. A comprehensive guide to dealing with noisy neighbours, whether the reader is a homeowner, condo owner, tenant, or landlord.
- Getting to know wood flooring. Complete guide to wood flooring in the home, from different styles to maintenance and more.
- 23 fabulous ideas for designing your outdoor kitchen. One of many interior design pieces I’ve written. This one was particularly fun to research and write.
I’ve done a fair bit of professional work for past employers and clients that is unpublished—internal reports, technical guides, deliverable reports, things of that nature.
On the other hand, I also wrote a lot while completing my Bachelor’s Degree, which I am free to share as I wish. Here are a few examples:
- Research paper: Ethical Implications for Communicators in the Age of Fake News. A paper I researched and wrote while attending Royal Roads University.
- Research paper: Voices in Our Heads – Why Podcast Listenership is Exploding Among Young Demographics. Another paper from RRU, exploring what it is about podcasts that so appeals to the younger half of the age spectrum.
